 LINCOLN

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION KILLILAN  I AM SO INTO ME

Some great results from the last few shows are Dudley the Dandie debuted with Baby Puppy In Group I am so thrilled with this little man and even if I say so myself he is by far the  best Dandie baby I have had fingers crossed everything holds.  Dexter Dandie comes through on his first show out of puppy to win Runner Up In Group and this weekend he received his final points to now be known as Ch Jollygaze Jeepers Creepers, "The Princess" continues on her merry way winning numerous Challenges, Puppy In Groups and Puppy In Show.  Lincoln is having a "quiet" time at the moment  but still making his presence felt but with the Spring and Summer shows about to commence I am hoping for some great results from him.

Wow so much has happend in the last 9 months I cant believe it has been that long since I posted anything on my news page to try and list all the happenings would take to long but I will endeavour to update a litte more regularly in future to put it all into a nutshell it has been an extremely successful 9 months with Lincoln finishing off the year with All Breeds Best In Show on New Years Eve what a thrill that was he has gone from strength to strength this year taking out many Groups and another Runner Up In Show and he is still only 2 years old, the future for this outstanding example of the breed is looking good.

Jagger has claimed his title of Australian Champion at the young age of 13 months and has been the Top Rising Star nationally for the Boxer breed for the entire year maturing up to  become a super masculine male (albeit a very trying and destructive male)

Doris the Dandie made her journey to England and whelped her litter to the wonderful Harry and on her first show in England took out her first challenge, I miss you so much  my beautiful Doris.

I now have 2 gorgeous Dandie babies about to make their debut 1 pepper and 1 mustard  "Dudley" and "Monica"  and to keep me occupied whilst waiting for my litter I have been campaigning "Dexter" the Dandie for Emma, he now needs only a few points for his title and depending on how Dudley comes up will go back to Emma in Victoria in the next few months.  Lochie the Skye is officially retired from the ring at the ripe old age of almost 10.

Sienna who is fondly known by all as "The Princess" has been the latest addition to the Shih Tzu from the world famous "Hashanah" kennels in NSW (Phillip Poulton)  she has conquered all before her, she is Nationally the number 1 Rising Star in Australia for the Breed and has staggered us all with her outstanding  show attitude,  exquisite head and the way she commands the ring as soon as she sets foot in it, she is indeed an exciting bundle of joy.  To see her advert in Dog news visit my links page

Joy oh Joy last week I took my exams for my Toy Group license and have just received the wonderful news that I was successful.  This is what has kept me so busy in the last 12 months, the amount of study is incredible but enjoyable and also there were quite a few judging appointments thrown in along the way.  One more group to go and hopefully I can attain All Breeds status which is my dream.

Some exciting litters for the Shih Tzu are planned and my other dream of Importing may soon be realised

Saturday 15th August no shows but the Tasmanian Canine Oscars.  What a great fun night it  was, lots of good food, lots of good friends, dancing, singing, alcohol, photos and a BIG headache the next day, looking forward to next year already.

I cant believe it has been 6 months since I updated my page, what a busy time it has been, lots of great results in the ring, with Doris becoming a Champion and now a multiple Best In Group and class in Show  Winner, Lochie has strutted his stuff a few times winning the Group and a Runner Up In Group, (he is now semi retired)  Lincoln is now only a few points away from his well deserved Championship title, with some great wins at Group and Show level and also winning Best Of Breeds on the Mainland, and now  there is a Boxer back in the house.  What a gorgeous boy he is  already a Baby In Show winner and multiple Baby In Group Winner the future sure looks promising for him.  Thanks to his wonderful breeder Denise Ball in Western Australia for allowing me to step back into this breed and for her  continued support and there are no stripes and no bloody tail.

On the judging front I successfully passed my Group 5 final Exams which now gives me 5 Championship  Groups, 2 more to All Breeds Woo Hoo!!!!! Group 1 Toys is next on the agenda,   and courtesty of Wilber that fence scaling Shih Tzu there is a  totally unplanned baby Shih Tzu causing havoc in the household.  Addison as she is called is one smart little package and at this stage will be staying at Killilan to see how she grows,  not a mating that I would have ever contemplated, but who knows time will tell.

Quite a few judging appointments coming up in the next few months to which I am really looking forward to.

 31st December 2008

Tonight was the Inaugural New Years Eve show  for the TCA and the last show for the 2008 season  at which I was officiating in the capacity of Group 3 Judge.  My decision for Best In Group was awarded to the English Springer Spaniel which I'm told now gives him his third title that being  Swedish Show Ch, Norwegian Show Champion & Australian Champion High Score River-Runs-Wild (Imp Sweden) a lovely  sound dog that  had all the requirements I was looking for  and moved around the ring with such an easy free gait that couldn't be denied my Runner Up was the lovely young  13 month old Weimaraner bitch Ghostwind Lady In Grey whom I have admired since she was a Baby Puppy,  another 6 months on this bitch,  and I'm sure she will be a force to be reckoned with.

There was a great atmosphere around the rings on the night and everybody appeared to be having a great time, the DJ for the night (Dean Quinlivan)  kept the music pumping although a few songs were a little "sus" the Karoake singers were also a bit "sus" at the end of the night,  all in all a very well run show and our General Specials judge bopped along with the music whilst she was judging which only goes to prove that she was indeed enjoying herself and that judging can be fun.

Best In Show was the very well performed Rottweiler Grand Ch Blackcombe The Business who has only been  very sparingly shown this year and whom I have also  on previous occasion had the  great pleasure of awarding Best In Group to, finishing of 2008 the same way he finished off 2007 on a Best In Show congratulations  Beau and his owners Jason & Nicole .

I hope this show will be on next years calender as well.  Congratulations to the Committee.

20th December

Another trip to Melbourne  to see number one son  before Christmas  (but who then decided  to fly out to India the day before I arrived  for another handling stint)  and for Emma to see Doris and "tweak" her coat of any mistakes I have made (I'm sure I will get this hand stripping down pat one day,) Doris was awarded Best Of Breed in good company, Claudia the Shih Tzu  Ch Killilan I Cant Fight Fate was awarded a 15 point BOB  short listed for the Group  and Intermediate In Group, Lincoln Killilan I Am So Into Me was awarded an 11 point challenge and Runner Up of Breed, whilst little Alice Killilan Leaves Me Breathless  won her puppy class and was awarded Reserve Challenge bitch so all in all a very successful trip once again to the big smoke. I was able to see all bar one of Sybils puppys from Harry and was thrilled to see them all so well loved and in fabulous pet homes which eases the pain a little.

A good result for  the day with little Alice  the baby Shih Tzu bitch the only one not in the ribbons but Im sure her day is just around the corner

2nd August

Umo arrived safe and well in Finland and has settled in well with his new family, who are absolutely delighted with him.

Kennel Club Of Tasmania saw Claudia take Bitch Challenge/Runner Up Breed and State Bred In Group, "Lincoln"  Killilan I Am So In To Me has certainly come full circle from not wanting to walk at his first show to being unable to keep all 4 feet on the ground however he still managed to keep it together to be awarded Baby Puppy In Group.

The Dandie baby "Phoebe"  took to her first show like a seasoned professional not putting a foot wrong and was also awarded Baby Puppy In Group (Photo above of Phoebe on her debut) and won many fans along the way, I must say she is looking stunning.

A coin was tossed as to who would show who for Baby In Show and young Taylor Millhouse was given the task of showing the bouncing Shih Tzu who entertained the crowd with his antics.  Never mind Taylor he will get better I promise.

Celebrations then took place to celebrate our close friend Karen Wrights' 40th birthday and all I will say on that is that there were a couple of unwell people the next day.

30th July

Umo has commenced his long trip to Finland, this was one of the hardest things I have ever done,  how people can export whole litters overseas for sale in petshops is beyond my comprehension they obviously have no conscience.  I know that Umo is going to a fabulous home and will be well loved and cared for but still I worry about him, he didnt ask to be born I made that decision and I only hope he will have a safe journey and will live up to the huge expectation that we all have of him.  Travel safe my baby and knock their socks off.  xxx

26th July

Well another successful weekend  in Melbourne sees Claudia taking out Best Of Breed and then Runner Up In Group and Intermediate In Group from an extremely stong line up  to the wonderful Dalmatian Gr Ch Pampard  Parisian Prince who then went on to take out Best In Show a wonderful result for such a great Champion who has also had to overcome such adversities in the past year.

The Dandie babies were put in trim but now dont have a feather to fly as I am told is the correct way for a stripped coat to come in correctly so will now be a few weeks before  they can be shown,  Phoebe is now the pick and looks like a true Dandie in her trim, although the body  coat  is short she still has her topknot and furnishings and  looks truly beautiful.

On a  personal note the new Navman worked great and I didnt get lost once one of the best buys I have done and dont know how I managed without it. Was certainly  a full car load with 6 babies and 3 adults but all coped well with the trip.

4 Beautiful baby girl Dandie Dinmonts from Multi Royal BIS Grand Champion/Multi BIS American Champion Hobergays Fineus Fogg (Imp NZ) out of  Ch Jollygaze Whirlwind

19th July

Southern Classic Claudia takes bitch challenge and Runner Up of Breed, Lincoln debuted and was completely in awe  by the  whole show situation, but by the end of the day was gaiting like an experienced trouper  taking everything in his stride and loving it.  Lochie had his second show back from injury and took Runner Up in Group Australian Bred in Group and went on to Australian Bred In Show.

Off to Melbourne next week to try my luck again in the big smoke, but primarily the trip is to let Emma see the 2 babies we were running on  and to put the  chosen Dandie baby in trim ready for her debut the next weekend. I believe it could be Phoebe but will let the more experienced eye of the "Doyen" of the breed take precedence.

22nd May 2008

I decided a trip to Melbourne to show Emma our beautiful Dandie Babies would be a good  idea so decided to try our luck and enter the Shih Tzu  to see how we compared  against some mainland competition - and the results were simply outstanding.

NEW CHAMPION 3rd May 2008

Claudia is now Aust  Ch Killilan I Cant Fight Fate - she decided  after producing 6 beautiful babies a couple of weeks ago, motherhood was not  in her agenda , she thought her job was done in giving birth.  Thank goodness  her mother was able to step in and  along with Sybil the  Dandie mother they have between them done a magnificent job of fostering  them, and now at 3 weeks old they are looking gorgeous.
